Sara and Owen, owners of Church Farm, live and work in a neighbouring village, only a 5 minute drive from Anderby. We enjoy meeting all our guests and are always close by to ensure your stay goes smoothly.
Church Farm and the surrounding farmland have been in our family for over half a century. As farming gradually modernised, the farm buildings which once surrounded the house became redundant and fell into disrepair. They were pulled down in the 1980's, leaving only photographs to show their footprint. You can see some of these photographs displayed in the living room.
Church Farm was first established and run as a self-catering holiday home by our family in the 1970's. In those times, a different level of comfort was deemed acceptable, and with no central heating, guests relied on coal fires to heat the house. Needless to say, bookings only came in during the summer months. Subsequently, the house was rented to tenants on a more permanent basis. With the roof in poor condition and rain starting to seep in, it became obvious the fabric of the building needed a major programme of repair and modernisation. Work started in 2013 and we welcomed our first guests in 2014.
We market and manage the house ourselves and hope by doing so, we are able to offer great value accommodation with a friendly level of service. We are rated by Visit England as 4 Star, with an additional Gold Award for exceptional quality of accommodation and customer service.
We hope that this website provides you with all the details you need to book a holiday with us. However, if you require any further information about the house or local area, please ask!
